ACCOUNTABILITY STATEMENT:
The Legal Contracts Administrator is responsible for compiling and managing the contracts for the corporation and providing support for other legal matters.    

MAJOR DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assist with drafting, preparing and finalizing contracts, including communicating with contractors, internal project managers and the Strategic Procurement department.
  • Be the administrator for the contract management system 
  • Manage certificates of insurance, WSIB certificates and bonds for contracts
  • Manage and provide substantive support to the contract management process
  • Manage requests for services made by internal and external clients
  • Obtain insurance certificates from the insurance broker as required
  • Coordinate and provide support for corporate related department activities, for example annual reports, budget process, department workplan & reporting activities
  • Provide other support and assistance to Legal Services & Corporate Governance as required
REQUIREMENTS:
  • College diploma in Legal Assistant or Law Clerk studies
  • 5 or more years experience in a broad range of legal practice areas, including contract administration and management
  • Extensive knowledge of legal practices and procedures, terminology, legal processes, document preparation and legal office procedures
  • Ability to deal with highly confidential and sensitive issues
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrated ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders, including the public, public sector partners and First Nations stakeholders
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment in conflict situations with internal and external parties  
  • Aptitude to identify issues, analyze and interpret data to make recommendations in concise and comprehensible format
  • Independent self-starter with excellent time management skills, problem solving and strategizing skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Above average ability to work with a variety of software programs including Office 365 and Adobe and ability to adapt to new software programs
  • Must be committed to company health and safety
