ACCOUNTABILITY STATEMENT:
The Asset Management Specialist supports and continuously improves enterprise asset management (EAM) practices by providing day-to-day functional support, managing issue and enhancement intake, and facilitating cross-functional governance with business units and IT. The role ensures EAM strategies, processes, and systems align with organizational goals, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices to drive data-informed decisions, optimize asset performance, and manage risk. Acting as a liaison between operations, business units, and IT, the position promotes effective system use, consistent standards, and strong collaboration for system delivery and enhancements.

The role ensures EAM strategies, processes, and systems align with organizational goals, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices to drive data-informed decisions, optimize asset performance, and manage risk. Acting as a liaison between operations, business units, and IT, the position promotes effective system use, consistent standards, and strong collaboration for system delivery and enhancements.
MAJOR DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Uses asset criticality, risk registers, and lifecycle analysis (run/repair/replace, deferment impacts) to support work prioritization, maintenance strategies, and investment decisions.
- Supports capital planning by contributing condition assessments, remaining life estimates, and renewal justifications aligned with asset management standards.
- Ensures maintenance workflows in Hexagon EAM are compliant and auditable from risk identification through work execution and closure.
- Develops and maintains standardized EAM processes, including SOPs, process maps, RACI definitions, and role-based job aids.
- Conducts process compliance audits and data quality checks; reports findings and implements corrective actions to improve consistency and integrity.
- Maintains and prioritizes a backlog of system enhancements and defects using defined criteria (risk, value, complexity).
- Leads or supports requirements gathering, testing coordination, release readiness, and post-release stabilization activities.
- Monitors and supports data integration across EAM, GIS, mobile, and finance systems, including validation of data flows and management of master data.
- Develops and delivers training programs, maintains knowledge resources, and supports a super-user network to drive adoption and consistent practices.
- Contributes to continuous improvement, maturity assessments, and performance reviews by tracking KPIs, identifying gaps, and advancing best practices.
- Post-secondary education in Engineering, Asset Management, Business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Professional certification such as Certified Asset Management Professional (CAMP), IAM Certificate/Diploma, or reliability/maintenance-related designation is preferred
- Minimum 2+ years of experience working with Enterprise Asset Management (EAM/CMMS) systems (e.g., Hexagon (HxGN), SAP, Maximo)
- Strong proficiency in EAM/CMMS systems, including asset hierarchies, work management processes, and master data structures
- Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve data quality issues, system defects, and process gaps within an EAM environment
- Experience developing and tracking KPIs, performance metrics, and outcome measures to support asset management decision-making
- Working knowledge of asset management frameworks (e.g., ISO 55000) and maintenance strategies such as preventive, predictive, and reliability-centered maintenance
- Understanding of data governance, data management, and analytics related to asset performance and lifecycle optimization
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Project, etc.) and data visualization tools such as Power BI
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across diverse teams
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities and adapt in a fast-paced, changing environment
- Self-motivated and able to work both independently and within a team setting
- Knowledge of applicable legislation, regulations, and public-sector environments is an asset
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel up to 25% within ONTC service area
- Demonstrated commitment to workplace health and safety
