ACCOUNTABILITY STATEMENT:
The DevOps Lead will provide leadership and oversight that will guide the planning, development and operations of all centralized IT services, and will support current and new technology initiatives that align with the business objectives of Ontario Northland. This position is responsible for overseeing the technical aspects of enterprise projects and ensuring that they are completed to the highest standard while providing technical leadership to the project team.

MAJOR DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provide leadership, guidance and instruction to the IT DevOps team
  • Review new and existing projects to determine resource assignment requirements
  • Provide reports to the Manager, IT DevOps on resource allocation
  • Review code and support Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) processes
  • Review current development systems and solutions and deliver guidance on product lifecycle, upgrades and migration opportunities
  • Collaborate with staff and departments to ensure smooth and reliable operation of software and systems
  • Collaborate with 3rd party Cloud providers for integrations with our systems for authentication and data imports/exports
  • Support the execution of data collection for system development
  • Conduct analysis regarding data integrity and initiate mitigation measures
  • Contribute to the quality assurance of data and information and support ongoing process improvement
  • Assist with data migration, data cleansing, and data integration activities to ensure accurate and seamless transfer of data between systems
  • Conduct meetings with team colleagues, operation subject matter experts, project managers, senior management, as well as outside consultancy services.
  • Assist with EAM/ERP design and engineer new policies, upgrades and update documentation
  • Collaborate with vendors and consultants as needed, to ensure effective implementation and maintenance of the EAM/ERP system, and other IT systems and services.
  • Serve as a key facilitator during kick-offs, workshops, training sessions, and other meetings as required
  • Be the subject matter expert on IT trends, techniques and opportunities
  • Establish requirements and participate in the evaluation for Request for Proposals (RFP)
  • Provide regular updates and reports, including KPIs and metrics to the Manager, IT DevOps
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Post secondary diploma or degree in Information Technology, Business, Computer Science, related field of study or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of one of the following certifications is preferred: Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL); Project Management Professional (PMP); Prosci Change Management
  • 5+ years of experience as IT DevOps within an enterprise and/or public sector setting
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Tools (PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
  • Experience directing development teams in all aspects of the software development life cycle (SDLC), including design, development, coding, testing, and debugging, to deliver high-quality solutions
  • Ability to write testable, scalable, and efficient code and setting coding standards for the team
  • Effectively design, build, and configure applications to meet business process and application requirements
  • Experience with the implementation of major business systems (ERP, EAM, MRP)
  • Knowledge of EAM/ERP systems (such as SAP, Oracle, Hexagon EAM, Infor, Microsoft Dynamics) with experience in configuration
  • Familiar with Change Management, Business Analysis and Project Management methodologies (ADKAR, Waterfall, Agile, Scrum, Risk Management, etc.) and supporting tools
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a focus on listening, coaching, judgement and decision making
  • Bilingualism considered an asset
