ACCOUNTABILITY STATEMENT:
The Lead, Business Intelligence will lead Ontario Northland’s business intelligence program and practices. The Lead will manage a team responsible for establishing and maintaining key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics in order to monitor the effectiveness of initiatives and overall organizational performance. Data will be used to analyze performance and provide insights to better support our operations and our customers.  

MAJOR DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Lead the development of metrics, measures and KPI’s for business performance
  • Support an overall strategic framework for measuring and tracking performance to enable the organization to maximize its effectiveness and optimize return on investment
  • Work with Lead, Business Planning to support all performance measurement reporting required for business plan and annual report
  • Ensure all performance measurement reporting in aligned with Directives and Policies
  • Collaborate with senior leaders and managers to identify relevant KPI’s and targets for all business units across the organization
  • Report on industry trends to Management
  • Liaise and partner with other support functions of the organization to create resources that facilitate the integration of organizational performance management practices
  • Guide, support and train new and existing employees within the performance management practice
  • Coordinate and manage cross-functional teams to improve business planning methods
  • Help establish a culture of accountability among leaders within the organization while providing oversight and consultation on quality improvement processes for the senior management team
  • Provide analytical support to drive business decisions, identifying risks and opportunities while developing action plans to achieve results
  • Analyze proposed projects or initiatives to determine whether they should be approved and implemented (including cost assessment, benefits, and risks)
  • Prepare performance reports for the executive team on a routine and ad hoc basis
  • Develop, implement and communicate performance indicators for reporting of compliance
  • Deliver timely, accurate and professional support related to data validation with clear guidance on how to correct data at the source
REQUIREMENTS:
  • University degree in Data Sciences, Business Administration, Project Management or a related field
  • 3+ year experience supporting business intelligence
  • Certified Business Intelligence Professional or related BI certification preferred
  • Experience leading staff, maintaining positive staff relations, and dealing with conflict resolution
  • Demonstrated collaboration skills
  • Experience coordinating and implementing organizational planning processes
  • Experience in performance management, quality improvement, program evaluation and project management
  • Excellent quantitative and critical thinking skills 
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, written and oral
  • Proficient negotiation skills at all organizational levels
  • Advanced skills in MS Excel (functions, pivot tables, data analysis, charts etc.)
  • Commitment to Health and Safety
