ACCOUNTABILITY STATEMENT:
The Recruitment Advisor leads the full-cycle recruitment and selection process, partnering with hiring managers to attract, evaluate, and secure top talent aligned with organizational needs. This role ensures a seamless and positive candidate and hiring manager experience while supporting effective, timely hiring decisions. The Recruitment Advisor continuously improves recruitment strategies and processes to enhance overall talent acquisition outcomes
MAJOR DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Leads full-cycle recruitment, including job postings, resume screening, interview coordination and facilitation, interview guide development, and candidate selection in alignment with policy.
- Coordinates sourcing activities with Talent Acquisition Specialists and contributes to overall talent acquisition strategy.
- Develops behavioral-based interview guides and ensures fair, consistent, and legislatively compliant hiring practices.
- Manages pre-employment requirements, including medicals, police checks, and skills/aptitude testing.
- Prepares and issues employment offers and contracts, supporting hiring managers with negotiations in alignment with policies.
- Maintains accurate candidate data and manages recruitment activities within the Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
- Communicates effectively with hiring managers and candidates throughout the recruitment process, ensuring a positive experience.
- Supports onboarding activities, including new hire documentation, orientation enrollment, and first-day readiness.
- Promotes the organization’s employer brand and employee value proposition through approved channels, including social media.
- Responds to recruitment-related inquiries and collaborates with HR teams to resolve complex issues.
- Monitors recruitment progress and provides updates on competition status.
- Identifies and implements opportunities for continuous improvement in recruitment processes and candidate experience.
- Supports HR data administration in collaboration with HRIS, including new hire entry, employee changes, and employment transactions.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Human Resources or a related field
- CHRP or CHRL designation (or actively working toward) is considered an asset
- 2–3 years of experience in a high-volume recruitment role.
- Experience in a unionized environment and interpreting collective agreements is an asset
- Strong sourcing, screening, interviewing, and candidate assessment skills
- Proficiency with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), recruitment tools, and MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
- Solid understanding of employment legislation, recruitment best practices, and industry trends
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with candidates, hiring managers, and stakeholders
- Ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information
- Effective negotiation skills, including supporting offer discussions with candidates
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Collaborative, adaptable, and solution-focused with strong attention to detail
- Valid G driver’s license and ability to travel as required
- Bilingualism is considered an asset
