ACCOUNTABILITY STATEMENT:
The Business Process Analyst designs and optimizes business, financial, and operational processes critical to organizational success. Working closely with stakeholders, this role identifies issues, explores improvement opportunities, and develops practical, process-driven solutions. Responsibilities include capturing business needs, analyzing current workflows, and ensuring proposed changes aligning with strategic goals and daily operations. Acting as a liaison between business users, project teams, and change management, the analyst translates ideas into clear requirements and supports successful implementation. 

MAJOR DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Chart and analyze current business processes and workflows to define activities, identify areas for improvement, and support continuous service enhancement.
  • Meet with decision makers, system owners, and end users to gather business, financial, and operational requirements and set system goals. 
  • Prepare requirements, designs, specifications, business processes, and recommendations, defining solution scope and potential value based on business objectives (e.g., targets, KPIs), capability gaps, risks, customer value proposition, and financial returns.
  • Develop and standardize new or improved processes based on analysis findings, and communicate changes and enhancements to stakeholders.
  • Apply best practice frameworks (BABOK, Lean Six Sigma, Agile) to promote continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate and execute testing activities, including end-user reviews, and provide post-implementation support for new or modified processes and services.
  • Make recommendations based on overall value delivery, including cost-benefit and ROI analyses.
  • Communicate project value and approach, and plan and monitor business analysis activities.
  • Conduct research on software and hardware products to support recommendations and purchasing efforts (RFPs), including vendor assessments.
  • Perform data mining and requirements analysis, process modeling, and prioritization to inform solution design.
  • Create budgets and change strategies aligned with company objectives while managing stakeholder relationships and collaboration.
  • Manage and prioritize requirements by analyzing, modeling, and documenting information and data.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • College diploma in Business Administration, Computer Science, Finance or Management Information Systems
  • Certifications such as IIBA, PMI-PBA, ITIL, PMP, and Lean Six Sigma are preferred, and familiarity with BABOK is considered an asset.
  • 3-5 years of recent experience with business and technical requirements analysis, business process modeling/mapping, methodology development, and data modeling.
  • Experience overseeing the design, development, and implementation of software and hardware solutions, systems, products and processes.
  • Proven experience in the operation and analysis of database hardware, software, and standards, as well as data retrieval methodologies and mainframe applications.
  • Practical knowledge of importing data for reports, spreadsheets, graphs, and flowcharts. 
  • Experience with MS Visio (or similar) for process mapping. 
  • Working knowledge of network and PC operating systems, servers, and telecommunications systems, including i5 OS, Windows, and related protocols.
  • Strong analytical, communication, leadership, and influencing skills. 
  • Skilled in coordination, planning, and training techniques. 
  • Ability to create clear operational procedures and apply research and statistical methods to systems issues.
